The camp was organized in association with SARVODAYA HOSPITAL SAMARPAN BLOOD BANK which works for the children’s suffering from Thalassemia & Leukemia.
(Thalassemia is a blood disorder passed down through families (inherited) in which the body makes an abnormal form of hemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen. The disorder results in excessive destruction of red blood cells, which leads to anemia.
Leukemia is a type of cancer of the blood or bone marrow characterized by an abnormal increase of white blood cells. Leukemia is a broad term covering a spectrum of diseases. In turn, it is part of the even broader group of deceases affecting the blood, bone marrow and lymphoid system, which are all know as hematological neoplasm.)
